Volunteer coach faces sexual abuse charges

WEBUTUCK — Twenty-one-year-old Kristian Murtagh, a resident of the town of North East and a graduate of Webutuck High School (WHS), was arrested on Monday, Jan. 30, and charged with engaging in sexual contact with a 16-year-old student who attends WHS.

Murtagh was arrested by New York State Police (NYSP) from the Dover Plains barracks, and charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor.
