Bloody battles recounted at library

NEW HARTFORD —  On Saturday, Jan. 14, the Licia and Mason Beekley Library presented a program featuring professor Hamish Lutris of Housatonic Community College entitled “Indian Wars.” 

The discussion covered some of the bloodiest battles ever seen in Connecticut, including some involving opposing Native American tribes, along with other historical battles involving natives and colonists. Lutris’ discussion focused on the people and events surrounding the Pequot-Mohegan War and King Philip’s War.
