Winsted's gem in the East End

The natural beauty of Winsted’s East End Park has been preserved with its most recent renovation, which included realignment of the iron and concrete fencing along the perimeter, leveling and straightening the sidewalks and the addition of new benches and fixtures. The park is looking clean and crisp, with its beautiful old trees, fountains and memorials to veterans of wars past. On Thursday evenings, the park plays host to the town’s annual summer concert series, with music performed on the Rotary Stage, but any day is good to stroll through and enjoy the scenery.

After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
