Winsted boy is home-run king

WINSTED — Logan Marchi, a 12-year-old Winsted resident, was the home-run champ at the Ken Hungerford Tournament in West Hartford on July 18. Logan is a member of the Winsted All Star Baseball Team and plays both pitcher and first base. Even though the Winsted team did not win the tournament, individual contests such as the home run derby gave children a chance to claim awards. Logan defeated Frank Gregoire of Simsbury by a slim margin of six home runs to five to claim the prize.

After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
