Dana Philip Dunham

 EAST CANAAN — Dana Philip Dunham, 31, of Elizabethtown, N.C., died on Feb. 18, 2008.

Dana was born in Sharon on July 1, 1976, the son of Philip E. Dunham and Catherine ( Dell ) Dunham of East Canaan.

He was employed by Eckerd Youth Alternatives as a youth counselor.

He graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in  Falls Village in 1994, then attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted.

Dana was a musician and musical writer, singing and playing in bands in Connecticut and South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Dylan Fenn Dunham of New Hartford and Escher Bjorn Dunham of Myrtle Beach, S.C.;  two brothers, Jeremy J. Dunham and his wife, Melanie, of Conway, S.C., and Philip D. Dunham of Myrtle Beach;  his paternal grandfather, Robert L. Dunham of North Canaan; his maternal grandparents, John and Myra Dell of Salisbury; a nephew, Parker Dunham of Fairfield; his aunts and uncles, Richard and Gail Dell, Dick and Patricia Walsh, Parks and Diana Holcomb, Deborah Smith, Robert Dunham, Stephen Dell, Maureen Dell, Hope Dunham and Sterling Dell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at the Pilgrim House on Granite Avenue in North Canaan.

Water main cleaning in North Canaan

Cabaret comes to St. Andrew's in Kent

Music in the Nave will again tap into local talent April 6 at 7 p.m. when its features George Potts in an intimate cabaret concert in the St. Andrew’s Church parish house.

Pott is a well-known figure in the community, both through his presence in the perennially popular Fife ‘n Drum, the restaurant started by his father-in-law, renowned pianist Dolph Trayman, and through his own career as a folk musician.
