Gilbert Fall Sports Highlights

Although the winter sports season is underway, it’s not too late to look back at the fall season and acknowledge the individual and team accomplishments at The Gilbert School.

To start, Gilbert produced 35 student athletes who received Berkshire League All Scholastic status. To qualify for this distinction, a student athlete must maintain a grade point average of 88 or better.

The girls soccer team won nine games to finish fourth in the Berkshire League and made their second consecutive appearance in the Class S State Tournament. At the same time, the boys team placed second in voting for the Ted Alex Sportsmanship Award.

As for individual honors, sophomore Jackie Vaccari made the first team Class S All State team in soccer and was selected to first team All Berkshire League for the second consecutive year. Seniors Nikki Hoxie and Lindsay Dzielak were voted to the second team.

In girls volleyball, Emily Vincent was voted to the second team All Berkshire League.
