General Store closes again

COLEBROOK — The Colebrook General Store has closed again due to a dispute between store manager Miriam Briggs and the Colebrook Preservation Society.

The General Store, located at 559 Colebrook Road, is one of the longest continuously operating stores in the area. However, there have been a few short gaps of time when it was closed. The store first opened up in 1812.

The store was closed for two years before the building was purchased by the Society, which is made up of four residents: Jim Millar, Howard Estock, Ed Lord and Marty Neal.
