BARKHAMSTED — Mallory Brook Cinemas, located at 380 New Hartford Road, has been closed for more than a month.

While there are signs in front of the building saying the theater is closed for maintenance and will reopen, the future of the movie theater appears to be uncertain.

The nine-screen movie theater was purchased in 2010 by New York City-based Cinema Holdings Group from Torrington-based Cinerom LLC in 2010.

A banner on the front of the theater reads “Under new ownership,” though the company has owned the theater for three years.
