Disappointment regarding merger of French 4 and 5

The North East (Webutuck) Central School District Board of Education met Monday, Oct. 7, to answer public comment, review student news and approve new business.

Public comment brought forward Suzanne Louey, a Webutuck High School parent. Louey expressed disappointment regarding the district’s combination of French courses 4 and 5, citing in particular the lack of any advanced announcement.

As a result, Louey said, students who most recently completed French 3 were unprepared for the leap in course material.
