Veterans honored by students, Elks

Colebrook and Winsted — Numerous events were held during the past week to honor the nation’s veterans as the national Veterans Day holiday was celebrated Sunday, Nov. 11.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Winsted Elks Lodge held its annual free luncheon for Winsted-area veterans and their families. More than 40 veterans from different eras attended the event, organized by club member and veteran John Beach.

Beach, a Marine veteran, served at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina from 1975 to 1976.
