Lincoln-Douglas debates re-enacted in Colebrook

COLEBROOK — A day before the final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney, politics from another century came alive at Colebrook Congregational Church on Sunday, Oct. 21, with a re-enactment of the Lincoln-Douglas debates, originally held in 1858 between then Illinois senatorial candidate Abraham Lincoln and incumbent Senator Stephen Douglas.

More than 60 residents attended the event, with Naugatuck actor Lewis Dube portraying Lincoln and Luke Boyd from Wallingford playing Douglas.
