Winsted Food Week just around the corner

WINSTED — Can food companies be pressured into putting labels on their products if they use Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) to make them?

Leading up to Food Week, a community event sponsored by the Rose B. Nader Circle which will be held from Monday, Sept. 10, to Sunday, Sept. 16, interns from the Office of the Community Lawyer have set up a booth at the weekly Winsted Farmers Market.

At the booth, interns encourage residents to sign a petition asking companies to label food products that contain genetically modified ingredients.
