Kent firemen host 101st annual ball

KENT — As they have done for more than a century, the Kent Fire Department volunteers held their annual ball (this year was the 101st) on June 9. Fire and emergency apparatus were moved outdoors and the gala was held in the firehouse.

Fire Department volunteer Darlene Brady said there were enough tables and food for 700 people. Long before the roast beef dinner was served, it looked like at least 85 percent of the available seats were occupied.
