WINSTED — It took just over 90 minutes for Bacon Academy of Colchester to upset the Berkshire League champion Northwestern Highlanders Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Class M state baseball tournament at Northwestern.

After six scoreless innings, the Bobcats connected with singles by Hayden Couture and Ryan Ducks. Both runners were driven home and a sacrifice fly rounded out the inning for Bacon Academy, leaving Northwestern with a 3-0 deficit.
