Work on bridge repairs moves forward

SHARON — At a Board of Selectmen’s (BOS) meeting on May 8, Selectman Meg Szalewicz reported there is continuing progress on the Mitchelltown Road bridge repair project. After many months of negotiation, talks between the town and the Metz family, whose land abuts the bridge, are moving closer to a final solution.

Because he owns land on Mitchelltown Road, First Selectman Bob Loucks recused himself from discussions on this matter. Szalewicz has taken the lead role representing the town.
