Emergency Response Team completes its training

CORNWALL — It was hard to tell what was causing more anxiety: the 100-question final exam or learning to use fire extinguishers — on a real fire.

But overall, there was a sense of excitement over completing training to be better prepared to help neighbors in times of crisis, along with a sense of realism. As students gathered for class, volunteer firefighters were just returning from hours fighting a Salisbury brush fire that spread over more than 35 acres.
