Selectmen close books on after-school bills

CORNWALL — The Board of Selectmen voted to deem uncollectable about $1,400 in unpaid fees for the after-school program held at the school until a year ago January. The program has been taken over by the Cornwall Child Center.

An account held by the town to operate the program was previously closed by the selectmen and a balance of about $2,000 turned over to the general fund. Finance Officer Barbara Herbst requested action be taken on the outstanding bills for eight families, so financial records could be closed.
