School to get green upgrades


NORTH CANAAN — A proposal to replace windows and doors for an energy efficiency upgrade at North Canaan Elementary School was quickly approved Feb. 28.

Sixteen people gathered to consider spending an estimated $310,000 on one of the recommendations of an energy audit conducted at the school and Town Hall. The recommendation was to replace windows in the oldest part of the building,the primary wing and library. But it was discovered some of the windows are part of a single unit that includes exterior doors. All will be replaced.
