AMENIA — By day, residents can turn to Amenia Town Hall to connect with local officials and stay informed about upcoming meetings and community events. By night, they’ll find that the familiar building at 4988 Route 22 has more to offer after working hours, including a variety of exercise programs to help everyone stay fit in a fun way during the winter months.

Every Monday and Wednesday night, the Town Hall offers an exercise class that runs from 6 to 7 p.m. Open to all interested participants, the class promotes fitness through stretching, weight lifting, flexibility...

PAWLING — The Harlem Valley Appalachian Trail Community (HVATC) drew a diverse crowd of local residents, avid trailblazers, regional organizations and AT supporters to celebrate fall along the trail at the sixth Appalachian Trail Day on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Webutuck boys soccer faces defeat, girls soccer gains a win

WEBUTUCK — With the fall sports season underway, the Webutuck varsity boys soccer team suffered a loss following a home game against Marlboro High School on Friday, Sept. 20.
The Warriors faced off against the Marlboro Dukes. Competing with a total of 11 athletes and no substitutes, Webutuck Coach Kevin Doyle shared his pride in the team’s performance, particularly Van Edmundson, who made his seasonal debut on the field in the game against Marlboro.

Pine Plains field hockey ties 2-2 with Onteora

PINE PLAINS — Despite dark clouds overhead, players on the Pine Plains varsity field hockey team kept their eyes on the goal as they competed against Onteora on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The home game weathered a prediction of rain that might have otherwise warded off spectators. Pine Plains athlete Jackie Povall was commended for scoring her team’s first goal with an assist by Penelope Paldino, only for Sarah Jones to follow up with a goal for Onteora.

WINGDALE — In celebration of National Public Lands Day, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and the Harlem Valley Appalachian Trail Community (HVATC) invited volunteers to hike along the Appalachian Trail (AT) and help with six maintenance projects on Saturday, Sept. 28.
