Volunteers bring eggs, good vibes to NYC

KENT — This year’s Egg-stravaganza, an annual hard-boiled egg drive to help feed the homeless in New York City on Valentine’s Day, set a new record for donations.

The drive collected 111 dozen festively decorated eggs this year, surpassing the previous two years’ 100 dozen.

The Egg-stravaganza, which is in its third year, is organized by Anne McAndrew of Backcountry Outfitters, with help from many other locals.
