Vanicky will now head town crew


CORNWALL — Jim Vanicky has been chosen as the town’s new highway crew foreman.

The Board of Selectmen voted Feb. 7 to hire Vanicky from among a number of candidates. He has been the interim foreman since last fall, following the resignation of Rick Stone.

Vanicky, a former Cornwall resident, lives in Goshen, but serves as assistant fire chief of the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department. He was to start as the official foreman on Feb. 8.
