Town may tap general fund to pay Region One expenses


FALLS VILLAGE — The Board of Finance discussed strategies for covering the cost of an unusually high enrollment at Housatonic Valley Regional High School during the regular monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 14.

Finance board member George Elling asked that the topic be added to the agenda. He provided a preliminary proposal to raise the $341,000 needed, including drawing down the town’s unexpended fund balance from just under 20 percent of the budget to 15 percent.
