Summer reading party at Hotchkiss Library


SHARON — The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon kicked off its summer reading program with an outdoor party on Saturday, June 18.

Gretchen Hachmeister, library board member and chairwoman of the event, said the program usually attracts about 60 youngsters. They range from toddlers (who have stories read to them) to teens. This is the first year that the library has hosted a party at the beginning of the program. Usually there is a celebration at the end of summer; this year,there will be an ice cream party. Children who complete the program will receive a gift from the library.
