Students help the homeless

MILLBROOK — For the past six years, the fifth-graders at Dutchess Day School (DDS) have been helping the homeless of Dutchess County.

This year, with guidance from their health teacher, Nigel Pink, they raised awareness about the homeless situation in Dutchess County and collected donations from the school community. This project coincides with the fifth grade’s health class lessons about empathy and the importance of helping those who are less fortunate.
