Snow too much for depot roof

FALLS VILLAGE — The roof over the platform in the rear of the former railroad depot in the center of town (now home to the Canaan-Falls Village Historical Society) collapsed Monday, Feb. 9.

Town historian Judy Jacobs said the tenant in the second floor apartment heard a loud noise and initially thought it was just snow sliding off the roof.

“Then he thought, ‘That’s a lot of snow,’ and looked outside.”

And saw one heck of a mess.
