With school year almost over, school work begins


CORNWALL — The school year is winding down. Eighth-grade promotional ceremonies are being planned (for June 15). But there are still plenty of projects underway at Cornwall Consolidated School. Much is in the planning stages and will likely be completed over the summer.

An $11,375 bid for replacement of the Gathering Room floor was approved by the Board of Education May 17. Laigle Floor Covering and Design in North Canaan was the winning bidder, coming in at more than $7,000 below bids by Weigold Floor Covering in Torrington and a company from Scottsdale, Ariz.
