Preventing crashes at Town Hall


KENT — Nearly two months after a hard drive in the Town Hall server crashed, the Board of Selectmen has hired an independent contractor to run an assessment of the town’s computer system to help prevent a similar crash from happening again in the future.

The crash, which occurred on Monday, Dec. 20, was caused by a battery failure in the server room at Town Hall, and resulted in the loss of many electronic copies of town records and programs that had been used by Town Clerk Darlene Brady to keep track of Kent’s vital statistics.
