Petition succeeds Land Trust proposal up for reconsideration

WINSTED — Laurel City residents have successfully petitioned for a special town meeting on Thursday, April 7, to discuss a proposal by the Winchester Land Trust that was rejected by the Board of Selectmen.

The call for the meeting at 7 p.m. at The Gilbert School will be to override the selectmen’s rejection of the Winchester Land Trust’s plan to acquire 360 acres of town-owned land in a deal that would give more than $400,000 to the town.
