Not exactly picnic weather

Rugged weather was the big news this week in the Tri-state region. Rain and snowmelt elevated the Housatonic River to flood stage; water crept over the bank toward the picnic area at the Great Falls in Falls Village, in view of the power station. Millerton and North East residents and businesses lost power for most of Monday, March 7. Ice that coated trees was beautiful but took down branches and power lines. Residents of Wassaic and Kent had to be evacuated from their homes.
