New math program changes showing rising test scores


WEBUTUCK — Following a restructuring of its K-6 math curriculum, assessments given at the end of each quarter at the Webutuck Central School District show substantial improvement in math testing scores for grades three through six.

There are four levels students can test into during assessments; levels three and four indicate that the student is meeting or exceeding state standards. Between the first and second quarters, assessment data showed a 26 percent increase in the number of students who scored in level three and four.
