Millstone opens bakery in former Stroble’s space

KENT — Several years after the closing of the popular Stroble’s Bakery, Kent at last has a new bakery — conveniently located in the same storefront once occupied by Stroble’s.

The Millstone Bakery is next door to the Millstone Cafe, both of which are owned by Carol Hawran of Sharon (who is also the restaurant’s chef) and John Cummins of Kent.

Patricia (“Tish”) Smith of Park City, Utah, has been hired as the executive pastry chef for the new bakery and for the restaurant (which opened last summer).
