Millerton goes solar

MILLERTON — “The solar panels are up.”

So pronounced village Trustee Yosh Schulman last week, one week after the Millerton Pump House and Highway Department flipped the switched and converted their power source from electric to solar, thus putting the village on the road toward big savings.

The panels are rated to produce 50 kilowatts (kw) per peak hour in the region; scientists say that comes out to the equivalent of about four hours of peak production daily, producing about 200 kw per day, according to Schulman.
