Merle F. Anderson

SHARON — Merle F. Anderson, 62, died peacefully at home Aug. 6, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.

Merle was born in Niskayuna, N.Y., in 1948, the son of Madeline and the late Merle Anderson.

Merle was the greenskeeper at the Sharon Country Club for 10 years, was a service technician for Community Fuel and worked at Kent School for the past 28 years, where he was dedicated and committed to the Kent School hockey rink.

Merle was a past member of the Sharon Fire Department and Sharon Lions Club and was a dedicated family man.

Merle is survived by his adored wife of 43 years, Deborah (Kinsman) Anderson; his sons, Mark and his wife, Lynsey, and Todd and his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Robert, all of Sharon; his seven grandchildren, Cole, Kaylie, Jacob, Tyler, Jordan, Mackenzie and Aidan, who were loved and adored; and his brother, Robert.

He was predeceased by his brother, James.

Funeral services were celebrated Aug. 10 at the Congregational Church in Sharon. Graveside services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Fire Department Ambulance or VNA Northwest Hospice Program.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon.
