Help wanted (and needed), as volunteers resign


NORTH CANAAN — Resignations of two longtime town volunteers were accepted with regret by the Board of Selectmen last week.

There were plenty of accolades for Lynne Martin, who served on the Douglas Library Board of Directors for 35 years.

“I don’t think anyone has been more dedicated to the Douglas Library that Lynn Martin,” First Selectman Douglas Humes said.

It’s been nine years on the Recreation Commission for Earl Dakers, who “did a fantastic job,” Humes said.
