SHARON — Still concerned over the sluggish economy, many people want to purchase holiday gifts made in the U.S.A. And many consumers are becoming more aware of the value of purchasing gifts at local, independent merchants rather than at chain stores. Shopping locally can increase a sense of community; and of course, the business profits remain here.

In Sharon, a number of retailers offer a variety of domestically made products, including a number that are specific to the Northwest Corner.
