Geo Bee has a returning champ

FALLS VILLAGE — The Lee H. Kellogg Geography Bee champion, for the second straight year, is seventh-grader Julie Horowitz. Riley Simmons (grade eight) took second place, also for the second year in a row. In third place was Justin Fitch (grade seven).

Julie will take a test in January and if she’s one of the top 100 scorers in the state, she’ll compete at the state bee. 

The winning tiebreaker question:  Cologne Cathedral, the largest Gothic church in northern Europe, is located in the Rhineland of what country?  (Answer: Germany).
