Eric E. Haight

CLINTON CORNERS — Eric E. Haight, 74, passed away June 13, 2011, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie after a short illness.

He was born in Poughkeepsie on March 29, 1937, the son of the late Thelma (Coffin) and Paul Haight.

He was a member of the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club, Sharon Audubon and the Stanford Historical Society. He also was a former member of Stanford Fire Company.

He enjoyed hiking, walking the Rail Trail and bird watching and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Mr. Haight coached the Stanford Twins Little League team.

Most of all he was a kind and loving man, who put everyone else first.

He worked for IBM as a technician in East Fishkill, N.Y. After retirement he and his brother had a lawn mowing service for several years in Stanfordville.

Survivors include a loving companion, Diane Eaton of Clinton Corners; a son, Matthew Haight and his companion, Trish Taylor, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Oliver Orton; four nephews, Christopher, Thomas, Irving Paul Haight Jr., and Ryan; and two nieces, Catherine and Allison.

He was predeceased by a brother, Irving P. Haight Sr.

A memorial service was held June 18 at the United Church of Christ, the Rev. Rhoda Starzyk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stanford Fire Co., Stanfordville, NY 12581.
