Efforts continue to make Commons plan work


NORTH CANAAN — A request for a dramatic lowering of a construction bond at Blackberry River Commons is making progress before the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z).

The application to drop the $300,000 bond to $25,000 or $30,000 on construction of up to 21 homes at the age 55-plus condominiums has been before P&Z numerous times. Owner William Weingart was at the Feb. 13 meeting to discuss the issues. He last appeared in April 2011.
