Ed budget up 3.64 percent


KENT — At its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 7, the Kent Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a proposed 2011-12 budget of $3,876,088. The education total is $6,446,941 when Kent’s portion of the Region One budget is added in. The regional education budget includes tuition for Kent students at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Pupil Services (which includes special education) and the regional administration office.

The total amount is a 3.64 percent increase over this year’s budget. The fiscal year begins July 1.
