Day imparts love of the printed word

FALLS VILLAGE — It wasn’t only the excellent baked goods that enticed community members to visit the Lee H. Kellogg School last Wednesday, Feb. 8 (although the cherry Danish was certainly enticing).

The real draw that day was the annual Read Aloud event sponsored by the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Alcoa Foundation. Every year, adults come to area schools and read books purchased for the library by the chamber. The national program is designed to help children learn to love reading.
