Concerns when there’s an assault arrest

SHARON — After a police blotter item in the Aug. 25 edition of The Lakeville Journal indicated that a 9-year-old in Sharon had been arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor (age 4, in this case) and fourth-degree sexual assault, parents of children at Sharon Center School called the newspaper to ask for guidance on what their rights are in a situation such as this.

The answers to those questions are best found with the state police and the regional school district.
