For BOE, the ‘Macarena’ and seeking shelter from the storm


CORNWALL — The new school year at Cornwall Consolidated School (CCS) has commenced, with a new principal, new goals and a lot of ongoing building projects, as reported at a Sept. 20 meeting of the Board of Education.

Enrollment is at 106 students, down from 114 last year.

New Principal Michael Croft spoke about the Aug. 27 fire at the school, just two days before school was to begin. But it was Tropical Storm Irene that delayed school for a day, not the fire; credit was given to the able response of the area’s volunteer firefighters.
