SHARON — At approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.3, a car driven by William Riley, 82, of Sharon, was exiting the Sharon Shopping Plaza parking lot to turn left (north) onto Route 41 when it was struck by a truck traveling southbound on the road.

According to one witness, Christina Smith of North Canaan, Riley’s car started to pull out of the shopping plaza parking lot to make a left turn to go northbound on Route 41. A truck, which Smith said did not appear to be speeding, was too close to stop and collided with the exiting automobile.
