Christopher Morley

Knowing Christopher Morley was a gift and an honor, one this community will cherish forever. He loved life and lived it to its fullest in every way that he could. With everyone he knew, he shared his love for the arts, children, the town of Falls Village, the Falls Village Children’s Theater, the D.M. Hunt Library, Shakespeare & Company, The Little Guild, Companion Pet Rescue and so many other organizations of which there are too many to list.

He wore his passions on his sleeve and you couldn’t help but feel them when he described the new Art Wall at the Hunt Library or the library’s silent auction, a new show by the Falls Village Children’s Theater, a painting, a dog at an adoption event, and especially when he spoke of his beloved wife, Leone, their family, and Max, his German shepherd.

Chris’s contributions to organizations he believed in were enormous. He gave his heart and soul to make them the best they could be. When he believed in something he gave it his all, and Chris’s “all” was more than you could ever ask for. When obstacles or politics got in the way of something good, Chris just moved them away!

Out of all the organizations he supported, I am closest to The Falls Village Children’s Theater. Chris’s devotion to this organization and to the children was extraordinary. He loved watching the children perform and was proud of every one of them. He believed in these kids and not only supported the annual Falls Village community show, but sent 70-plus kids to a day of Shakespeare every year and sponsored many in performing arts camps each summer.

“Amazing” is the only word that comes to mind to describe all he did for our community.

Just last week, Chris commented on one of the Dr. Seuss quotes from the Falls Village Children’s Theater production of “Seussical”: “Don’t cry because it ended, smile because it happened.”

Well Chris, because of you and your overwhelming support for everything good, the whole community smiles often and will for a long time — everytime we think of you and all you did for all of us. We are eternally grateful.
