Amenia man dies while doing ‘most dangerous job’

PINE PLAINS — Amenia resident Robert A. Jasmin Jr. was killed during an on-the-job accident on Monday, June 6.

Jasmin, who owned Jasmin Tree Service, had been cutting tree limbs on a property on Route 199 in Pine Plains.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Jasmin had climbed the tree using ropes. When a cut limb fell toward him, he tried to move out of the way and the rope knot slipped, causing him to fall approximately 40 feet to the ground.
