Aida M. Burdick

COPAKE FALLS — Aida M. Burdick, 93, of Mount View Street in Copake Falls died April 11, 2011, at the Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Philmont, N.Y.

She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Philmont, the daughter of the late Bertha and Charles Ogden.

She married Parker A. Burdick Oct. 28, 1937. He predeceased her on Nov. 29, 2006.

She and her husband owned and operated the Berkshire Brookside Farm in Copake Falls for a number of years before selling the farm in 1955.

Mrs. Burdick was a charter member of the Copake Fire Auxiliary No. 2 and also served as the postal clerk in Copake Falls for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Burdick is survived by her daughter, Judith and son-in-law, Thomas A. Burns Sr., of Millerton; her grandson, Thomas A. Burns Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Hudson, N.Y.; two great-grandaughters, Sarah E. Burns of Hudson and Jennifer J. Burns of Troy, N.Y.; and two nephews, Bruce Babjeck of Florida and Edward Ogden Jr. of Castleton, N.Y.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Edward Ogden Sr., and her sister, Lillian Babjeck.

Funeral services were held April 13, followed by interment in the West Copake Cemetery.
