Ronald N. Graves

MILLERTON — Ronald N. Graves, 80, a resident of Millerton for 14 years, died on Dec. 13, 2018, at his home. He previously lived in Brewster, N.Y. 

Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on June 28, 1938, Ron was the son of the late Ruth (Hartung) and Roswell Graves. 

Ron proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed as a pipe welder with the Operating Engineers for Local 137 in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., and Local 15 in New York City until his retirement. 

Guild Root Odell

COLEBROOK — Guild Root Odell, 75, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 11, 2018, in his home, surrounded by family and friends. 

Guild “Gil” was born in Torrington on Feb. 28, 1943, to the late Leo Edward Odell and Mabel Blake. 

Gil was raised in and lived in Falls Village for 42 years before residing in Colebrook. 

He worked as a maintenance supervisor for TRW and then SKF in Winsted.

Patricia Ann ‘Patti’ Curtis

KENT — Patricia Ann “Patti” Curtis, 63, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Dec. 2, 2018, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and sister. 

Patti was born Nov. 1, 1955, in Newport, Vt., to Betty (Percy) and Dallas Curtis, who survive and reside in Pinson, Ala.  

She was the oldest of three children, and was predeceased by her younger brother Edward Earl Curtis in November 2016. 

Neil E. Pilch

PINE PLAINS — Neil E. Pilch, 81, passed away Dec. 3, 2018. 

He was born Nov. 25, 1937, the son of the late Margaret (Pilch) and Arthur Hay. 

He attended schools in Gaylordsville and New Milford. 

Mr. Pilch proudly served his country with the United States Marines from 1958 to 1962. He drove trucks for Agway Petroleum, Arnoff and Liberta Bros.

On June 9, 1961, he married the former Diana Clum. She survives at home with their son, Tony. 

Irene H. Raymond

NORFOLK — Irene H. Raymond, 75, died Dec. 2, 2018, at her home with her loving husband, Theodore, by her side.

Irene was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on Feb. 24, 1943, the daughter of the late Marion and Ernest Hackney. 

For many years she worked for the Torrington Company. 

She also owned her own ceramic business. 

In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by her two sons, Theodore L. Raymond Jr. and Thomas L. Raymond; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Terry B. Hoffman

PINE PLAINS — Terry B. Hoffman, 56, passed away on Dec. 4, 2018, at home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1962, in Sharon,  the son of Lois (Coffin) and Harry B. Hoffman. 

Terry was a mechanic for Pine Plains Tractor.

Terry had a good heart and loved to help people in need.  Mechanic by trade, he was skilled in many things.  He loved attending and competing in tractor pulls as well as working on his tractors and Mustang.

Elizabeth F. Prause

MILLERTON — Elizabeth F. Prause entered Heaven peacefully on Dec. 3, 2018.

Elizabeth was born in Brookfield, Conn., on Aug. 25, 1928, to Sarah and George Fitch. 

Elizabeth graduated from Bob Jones University and Middlebury College, earning a MA in French. She taught French at Bob Jones for 12 years prior to marriage. 

Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher, serving faithfully at Millerton Christian Academy and as a pianist and organist at North East Baptist Church.

Adele F. Strelchun

NORTH CANAAN — Adele F. Strelchun, 82, of San Antonio, Texas, and formerly of North Canaan died on Nov. 30, 2018, after a brief illness. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Francis X Strelchun, on Nov. 21, 2010.

George E. Farnsworth

SALISBURY— George E. Farnsworth died at Noble Horizons on Dec. 8, 2018.

George E. Farnsworth was born on May 6, 1930, to Rina and Russell Farnsworth in Millinocket, Maine. He graduated from Stearns High School in Millinocket and received a degree in history from the University of Maine at Orono.

He taught elementary grades in a one-room school in Bremen, Maine, and also taught at other schools in Maine and Connecticut.

Laura L. Ehrlich

STANFORDVILLE — Laura L. Ehrlich, 94, passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, at Sharon Health Care Center. 

She was born on Oct. 11, 1924, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the daughter of Ruth (Pucher) and John Hanlon. 

Mrs. Ehrlich was an operator for Bell Telephone Company in New York City. 

She was a long-time member and past president of the Stanford Forever Young Club.

Survivors include her brother, George Hanlon of Stanfordville;  and several nieces and nephews.
