Marjorie Anne LaMarque

NORTH CANAAN — Marjorie Anne LaMarque, née McCunn, 90, of Beckley House in North Canaan, passed away peacefully March 3, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington after a brief illness. She was attended by family members. 

Formerly of Topsham, Maine, Salem, S.C., Greenwich, Conn., and Rye, N.Y., Marjorie was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1929, and grew up in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., where the family moved in 1930. 

She was predeceased by her husband, John C. LaMarque; and her daughter, Allison. 

Robert C. Judge

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Robert C. Judge, 90, died at home surrounded by family on March 2, 2019.

Bob was born in Brockton, Mass., on May 31, 1928, to Nora (Shinnick) and Thomas E. Judge.

He graduated from Holy Cross College in 1950 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. During the junior prom with Regis College, he saw Mary Lou Gallagher across the room and asked her to dance. She was on the planning board for the dance and he was in charge of hiring a big band for the event. They married two years later and began their journey together.

Richard Allen Couch

NORTH CANAAN — Richard Allen Couch of North Canaan and formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., died at home on Feb. 15, 2019. He was 80.  

Dick was born in Bremerton, Wash., on April 4, 1938, to Harriet Frances (Gilmor) and  Richard Bailey  Couch. 

His family moved to Bethesda, Md., where his father became the chief naval architect of the United States, and later to Ann Arbor, Mich. 

Nancy Marie Boyles

LAKEVILLE — Nancy Marie Boyles, 72, passed away March 5, 2019, at home with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Nelson Abraham Slater and Eva Mae Macfarlane on Oct. 5, 1946, in Johnson City, N.Y. 

Evelyn ‘E.J.’ Johnston

KENT — Evelyn “E.J.” Johnston died on Feb. 20, 2019, at the age of 90. 

Born in Minneapolis, Minn., E.J. transferred from Phillips Petroleum Company to their international office in New York City, where she enjoyed working and living for the next 30 years. 

She relished moving to Kent in retirement. 

E.J. enjoyed and cherished her circle of friends. 

Barbara Haupt

SALISBURY — Barbara Haupt, wife of Mike Haupt, died March 1, 2019, from Parkinson’s disease.

Barbara was in real estate, working in Wareham, Mass., for most of her career, before moving to Salisbury.

Barbara Ann ‘Bobby’ (Morren) Wasley

WARREN — Fun loving and carefree, Barbara Ann “Bobby” (Morren) Wasley was quick to point out to anyone her initials were BMW.

Friendliness and love of laughter were her essence. Social to the core, she confessed she could “talk to a stone wall.”

Bobby died peacefully on Feb. 24, 2019. She was 90 years young.

Born in New Milford on July 28, 1928, Bobby was the fourth of six children to the late Ella Katinka (Beyer) Morren and John Gibb Morren.

Jon Edward Wordell

LAKEVILLE — Jon Edward Wordell passed away Feb. 13, 2019, at his home in South Chatham, Mass., surrounded by family. 

Jon was born in Fall River, Mass., in 1943. He was the son of the late Eunisa (Greenlaw) and Dr. Arnold Wordell. 

He graduated from Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H., and Oglethorpe University in Norcross, Ga. 

Janet L. Lovett

SALISBURY — Janet L. (Ostrander) Lovett, 86, a native of Salisbury who retired to Melbourne Fla., died Feb.25, 2019, at Indian River Center Nursing home in Melbourne.

Born Nov. 19, 1932, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Surdam) and Brinton Ostrander. 

She was the wife of the late Irving W. Lovett. 

Robert C. Judge

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Robert C. Judge, 90, died at home surrounded by family on March 2, 2019.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Cornwall Bridge on Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. The Kenny Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Burial will take place on June 22 in Cambridge, Mass.
