Teresa Williams

WEST HARTLAND — Teresa Williams, 76, died Feb. 10, 2011. She was the loving wife of Lawrence R. Williams for 21 years.

Born on Feb. 2, 1934, in Poland, she was a daughter of the late Helena (Bielska) and Jan Chylinski. She was employed by Polish Helping Hands in Unionville.

Ella ‘Jane’ Centrella

TORRINGTON — Ella “Jane” Centrella, 88, formerly of Chestnut Street, Winsted, died Feb. 7, 2011, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, following a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Samuel Centrella, who died in 1991.

Born in New Hartford, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Carrie (Southard) and Herbert Clements. She had lived most of her life in Winsted. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Winsted Precision Ball for well over 30 years.

Mary Elizabeth Goldstone

WINSTED – Mary Elizabeth (Chapman) Goldstone, 96, of Prospect Street, died at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on Feb. 8, 2011, after a long illness.

Born Dec. 7, 1914, in Warehouse Point, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Strouse) Chapman and Herbert Chapman. She was the widow of Albert E. Goldstone, who died in 1985.

Mrs. Gladstone worked for the telephone company, retiring in 1973 from SNET after 25 years of service. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed having her large family around her at family gatherings.

Arthur Walter Haskell Jr.

SANDISFIELD, Mass. — Arthur Walter Haskell Jr., 68, of Sandisfield Road, died Feb. 10, 2011, at Hartford Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of Patricia (Buda) Haskell, who died in 2008.

Born in Winsted Dec. 23, 1942, son of the late Elizabeth (Parrott) and Arthur Haskell, he had lived in this area most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machine operator for Howmet Corp. for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era and also did Army Reserve time. He was a member of Tuttle Burns Post American Legion and VFW Post 296.

Ethel Barbara Locascio

WINSTED — Mrs. Ethel Barbara Locascio, 90, of Federal Way, Wash., died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2011, at her home. She was the widow of Jack F. Locascio.

Born in Torrington on Sept. 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Gryzboski) Poniatoski.

Ethel is survived by two sons, Michael Locascio of Spokane Valley, Wash., and Jack V. Locascio of Tacoma, Wash., five grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Sterling of Jacksonville, Fla.

Aurore L. O’Neil

WINSTED — Aurore L. O’Neil, 90, formerly of Winsted and Colebrook, died Feb. 9, 2011, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington following a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Terence J. O’Neil, who died in 2008.

Born in St. Raphael, Quebec, Canada, she came to the United States as a young girl and had lived in this area most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at SCASCO and at Holiday Handicraft, both in Winsted.

Irena H. Bergeron

MILLERTON — Irena H. Bergeron, 64, of East Hartford, the wife of Ernest A. Bergeron, died Jan. 31, 2011, at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Janina and Stefan Sieminski.

She was employed for 24 years as an inventory clerk for Lux, Bond and Green.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters; one brother; and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces, all in Poland.

Michael Ross Gannett

WEST CORNWALL — Michael Ross Gannett died Feb. 9, 2011, at Noble Horizons in Salisbury after a brief illness. He was 91 and lived in West Cornwall.

He was born in Paris, France, on July 13, 1919, the son of Mary Ross and Lewis Gannett. He graduated from the George School in Newtown, Pa., and Harvard College, class of 1941.

In 1942 he entered the Foreign Service and served as a Foreign Service officer in the Dominican Republic, Chile, Iran, Italy, Austria and Germany. In 1944-45 he was a combat infantry officer serving in France and Germany.

Robert F. Rueger

Ashely Falls — Robert F. “Bob” Rueger, 81, died Feb. 6, 2011, at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. He was the husband of Priscilla (Hall) Rueger. Mr. and Mrs. Rueger were married on Jan. 9, 1954, and celebrated 57 years together.

Bob was born in St. Albans, Long Island, N.Y., the son of the late Anna (Clauer) and Philip Rueger.

Wallace Wells Reynolds

NORTH CANAAN — Wallace “Wally” Wells Reynolds, 72, of Great Barrington passed away Feb. 4, 2011, at Fairview Commons Nursing Home.

A longtime employee of the Drucker family, he worked at Bob’s Clothing in North Canaan for almost 40 years. The last few years, he worked at Barrington Outfitters in Great Barrington.

He enjoyed waiting on generations of customers and friends.

Wally was an excellent bowler, and for many years bowled at Cove Lanes.
