Francoise Bartlett

SALISBURY — Francoise Bartlett, wife of William Bartlett of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Mount Riga in Salisbury, died on Monday, March 7, 2011.

Anne (Wing) Aller

SALISBURY — Anne (Wing) Aller, 83, passed away quietly on Feb. 8, 2011, at Noble Horizons, where she had resided for the last 18 months. She was born Dec. 12, 1927. Anne, the daughter of the late Irene (Wallace) and David Vogels, was known to many for her spirited personality and her passion for sports and competition.

She grew up in Saunderstown, R.I., and on Quansett Farm in Westport, Mass., where her love for horses, hounds and sports began. In 1947 she graduated from The Mary C. Wheeler School in Providence, R.I.

Joseph Shoplack

TOLLAND, Mass. — Joseph Shoplack, 80, died Feb. 23, 2011, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Johanna (Stemmer) Shoplack who died in 1988.

Marguerite E. Petty

WINSTED — Marguerite E. Petty, formerly of Ballston Spa, N.Y., died Feb. 23, 2011, at Laurel Hill Healthcare. She was born Dec. 28, 1927. She was the widow of Paul Petty.

Bernard M. Veilleux

NORFOLK—Bernard M. Veilleux, 52, of Greenwoods Road died at his home on February 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Veilleux was born in LaMesa, Calif., on Dec. 22, 1958, the son of Virginia Landon of Tennessee and the late Bernard Albrico Sr.

Mr. Veilleux worked as a machinist for New England Miniature Ball in Norfolk for more than 20 years. He also was an avid motorcyclist.

Leo A. Martin

WINSTED — Leo A. Martin, 86, of Mountain Avenue, died Feb. 23, 2011, at his home. He was the husband of Ann (Kolasinski) Martin, who died in 1989.

Born Oct. 29, 1924, in Winsted, he was the only child of the late Eugenia (Fitzpatrick) and Leo Martin. He had lived here all of his life. 

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a butcher for Big Y and First National Stores for 32 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Joseph Church. 

Leonce Joseph Leblond

WINSTED — Leonce Joseph Leblond, 88, died Feb. 28, 2011, at Laurel Hill Healthcare in Winsted. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Rodrigue) Leblond.

Lois Johnson

MERIDEN — Lois Johnson, Republican deputy registrar of voters for 28 years, died at the age of 100 and eight months on Feb. 18, 2011, in Meriden. She was formally of Winchester. She was the widow of Theodore C. Johnson Sr.

Born May 6, 1910, in West Haven, she was the daughter of the late Mable (Shaw) and Harry Pond. She was a 1929 graduate of The Gilbert School.

Lois was also employed for many years at the Hudson Wire Co., Mason Silk Co. and by the tax collector’s office in Winsted.

Jamie O. DeBerry

FALLS VILLAGE — Jamie O. DeBerry, 43, died March 10, 2011, while vacationing with a co-worker in Ambato, Ecuador.

Jamie was born Feb. 8, 1968, at Sharon Hospital. He was a son of Pauline (Miller) DeBerry of Falls Village and the late James DeBerry.

Jamie was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School. Following graduation, he went to work for the Specialty Minerals Company in North Canaan, where he was still employed as a Wire Technician II.

Jamie devoted his life to his four children. He enjoyed traveling and cooking, especially grilling.

Allen ‘Bucky’ Hubbard Sr.

WINSTED — Allen “Bucky” Hubbard Sr., 64, died suddenly on Feb. 23, 2011.  He was the loving husband of Patricia (Minard) Hubbard, who died in 1993. 

Born Jan. 3, 1947, in Winsted, he was the son of the late Camilla (Carey) and Harold Hubbard. 

Mr. Hubbard was a lifelong resident of Winsted, graduating from Oliver Wolcott Technical School and then serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam period. He worked as a machinist at B&D of North Canaan  until 1983.
